John Stuart mill (1806-1873) was an English philosopher and economist. The greatest fame was gained as a promoter of the achievements of contemporary political economy of science. In his fundamental treatise "Foundations of political economy" discussed the economic dynamics of the value of goods in international trade, the theory of value and exchange rates. John mill had a huge impact on the Russian economic thought of the nineteenth century. This translation of his work made by the famous scientist and revolutionary N. G. Chernyshevsky, who was accompanied by a text of their own comments.
