Nikolai Berdyaev (1874-1948), philosopher of God, who believed that the spiritual struggle is the bounden duty of every member of society. He first raised a revolt against the historical process as a blind force aimed at suppressing the will of the individual. In this paper, the author examines the problems of moral cognition, the origin of good and evil, the creative destiny of man, and the universal role of religion in the spiritual liberation of the individual. Berdyaev's thoughts on the necessity of active struggle against evil is particularly relevant today in terms of the acceleration of globalization and social absolution of man.
