The fate and figure of the English philosopher Thomas Hobbes are not less impressive than his works. Having lived almost a century, he witnessed many events that shook Europe and England: the Thirty years war, Cromwell's revolution, Restoration, and even the plague. Familiarity with bacon, Descartes, Galileo and other thinkers imposed on the experience of the troubled eras that prompted Hobbes to write a brilliant, innovative work with the ominous name of "Leviathan", prompting a wave of controversy, admiration and resentment of his contemporaries. Considering civil peace, the Supreme good and using the method of proof used by Euclid in "Elements", the philosopher introduced the world to the theory of the social contract as a mechanism for the origin of the state. Biblical monster embodied for the author of the government — an artificial entity created by man to overcome the war of all against all and to ensure social order. Ironically treatise in the seventeenth century is thrown into the fire along with other "malicious writings" allegedly undermines the foundations of human society, formed the basis of the modern theory of state and law.

I'm talking about the similarities themselves of the passions, which are the same for all men, — desire, fear, hope, etc., and not about the similarity of the objects of these passions, i.e. the things that you wish, fear, hope, etc., because the latter vary depending on the individual device of the person and features of his upbringing and easily escape our knowledge.
