The book "the Costume of the peoples of the Russian Empire" was published in London in 1810. Its compiler and the author of the illustrations of Edward Harding dedicated his work to her Royal Highness, Princess Elizabeth of England. In the original edition, each nation is represented by engraving, hand-painted, and accompanied by detailed text in English and French about the life and customs of peoples inhabiting the vast Russian Empire. We have retained the old spelling, changing only the obsolete place-names in contemporary, and also added Russian translation.
